Frequently Asked Questions
Who can join?
Any full time Montana State student (12 or more credits) are welcome to join the team!
What are the costs to join?
Final costs for the upcoming season are still being determined, but dues are separated into three parts: Fall Dues, Spring Practice Team Dues, and Spring Travel Team Dues. This breakdown helps cover field time, equipment, league fees, travel, and other team expenses.
We work hard to keep dues as low as possible by participating in fundraisers and volunteering around the Gallatin Valley throughout the year. Donations from friends and family also play a big role in supporting our athletes and reducing costs.
What league does the team compete in?
We compete within the WCLA's Rocky Mountain League
How do I as a Parent support my player and her team?
Parent support makes a real difference in our success on the field. Attending tournaments not only boosts team morale but can also have a direct impact on our performance. Parents are encouraged to join our Booster group on Facebook, contribute to the program through donations, and share new ideas with team leadership. Your involvement helps keep the program strong and gives our athletes the best possible experience.
Do I need prior experience?
No Prior Experience Required! We have had girls with 12+ years of lacrosse under their belts and others who had never touch a stick before joining on our team!
What equiptment do I need, does the team provide gear?
Since we are a Club sport we are not able to provide equiptment like sticks, googles, cleats or mouthgraud to our players. We do however provide all field equipment like goals, balls, cones, etc.

If you are brand new to the sport and just interested in trying it out we have a few extra stick and googles we are happy to loan you temporarily as we understand it can be an expensive sport to get into!
What does the time commitment look like, and how competitive is the team?
We value dedication as much as talent. Your commitment to attending practices, tournaments, and team events plays a major role in determining which team you make and the amount of playing time you receive. Consistent effort, reliability, and a willingness to grow often matter more than natural skill alone.
Something We Didn't Cover?
We are sure that there are many more questions you have regarding the team, we would love to hear from you so send us a message and we will great back to you as soon as possible!
What is the difference between the practice and travel team?
Our practice team is open to all MSU students interested in playing lacrosse, regardless of experience. It’s a great way to learn the game, build skills, and be part of the team without the commitment of travel.

Our spring travel team is selected through tryouts held near the end of the fall season. These players represent MSU in competitive league games and tournaments across the region, requiring additional time, travel, and commitment.
Are there scholarships associated with the team?
As we are a club team there are no scholarship through the university or our team.
How do I sign up to join or get more information regarding the team?
Get in touch with us through this website, send us an email, follow us on Instagram, or stop by our table at Catapalooza on August 22nd!

We’ll be hosting a Fall Informational Meeting within the first two weeks of classes to cover costs, practice times, commitment expectations, and more. It’s also a great chance to meet our team leadership, who are happy to answer any questions you may have.

Our coaches, who are incredible role models on and off the field, will be at the first practice and are available to answer your questions then in person.
